I have to admit I was getting nervous! Normally there are "keepers" here by the end of May and in solid by June 4th or 5th. This year the water temps were a bit cool and  the mackerel had arrived by May 24th but not "in mass". I called my client on 6-5-08, told him the news (?) and said we MAY have to put off our scheduled 6-9-08 trip. Luckily on the 7th the fishing was improving steadily, my repeat client Iain trusted me and we went out as scheduled. There were plenty of macks for live bait and we boated 35 bass with 7 chunky "keeper sized" bass to 39"s!  Not a bad day for a 2 person charter! The season has finally begun!!!!
