I just came back from a "nice boat ride" going out the Merrimack and running the beach to the mouth of the Parker River. I did not cast to or troll up a single fish. I know that there have been valid reports of stripers to "Keeper size" caught but I did not find them. Just a few birds and I marked some very nice bait balls. The water temps have dropped a few degrees and I feel the bulk of the bass are still south of Cape Ann or in deeper water chasing mackerel.

 BUT CHEER UP! The fishing in this area broke wide open last year by the 20th of May!! Soon I will be able to report great fishing but for now we still watch & wait.
