I just returned from a brief vacation and went out this morning to look around. Reports I got from friends were that the bait was available but very skittish. Given that I trolled for a couple of hours and found both "keeper" size bass, "shorts" and bluefish cruising on the surface or just sub surface. They are definitely keyed in on sand eels and frankly the fishing is better than when I left last week! It looks good for a great second half of the season!
