Merrimack River Fishing Reports, Plum Island area,, Newburyport MA. > Final week of June

28 Jun 2008

June is my favorite month! That is until July comes. Months are like childern, you love them all and they are all just a bit different. With over 200 striped bass in the boat (most carefully released) it sounds like a very good week, and it was except for the wind! The end of the week was spent fishing where we could as opposed to where & how I wanted to. That is fishing. I always give the option of re scheduling if it is blowing to hard, but it's June and the guys want to get out there!!!!

The mackerel are hanging in and are availible to us for bait. I say it that way because for the past 3 years or so we have only had about 2 weeks of fresh mackerel. I've had to freeze my own bait to be assured of the quality baits I want/ need to catch fish for my clients. I do not do "Boat Rides"! I'm not happy unless the boat is catching fish!

Check out the new photos, The wind is calming down and it is going to be a great few days!
