The striper fishing just continues to amaze me! Usually we are trolling around, catching schoolies, bluefish and hoping for one or two "keepers" to make the day. This year we still have mackerel, the herring are starting to drop out of the rivers and we have some peanut bunker, which keeps the bass right at out door step!
Last Sunday I took my wife out for her first boat ride of the season ( she had no interest in going out in the rain June & July) and I was casting into breaking bass for over an hour! Part of the total was a 28", 30" and 32" striped bass on a popper!!
There are also still big fish in the river with a 37" and 38" bass taken on the last two charters.
I'm booked Thursday and Friday, then we will see what hurricane Bill has to offer us over the weekend. I'm thinking we will get big swells only but have to wait and see.
Good fishing
