The first two weeks of June have been very good but now we are rolling into prime time! The 2nd week in June thru the 2nd week in July can consistently be the best fishing of the year. But then comes mid July to the 1st or 2nd week on August which is a close second. Just check the dates on some of the photos on the site.
I got out Wednesday and Thursday (between downpours) and the stripers were good sized and plentiful. Bait is still a challenge. Wednesday we had the macks coming into the boat at a fast pace just off Breaking Rock , then a grey seal poked his head out of the water. Things went down hill fast and I had to move to another location. After chumming up a few more baits Dick Crosbie & his guests pulled in "double digit " keepers to 35"s on the end of the out going tide thru the turn of the tide. Just a heads up, there is so much fresh water coming down river from the rain storms you need to get your bait out to "clean" water often to keep it alive!
Thursday Lou Rubino brought his son Matt & friends out for Matt's 13th birthday. Matt had never caught a striper before but ended up "high hook" with 11 stripers including 4 "keepers' to 33"s!! His friend Alex was gracious enough to allow Matt 11 fish to his 10 but did one up him with 5 "keepers"!
The smile says it all!!!
Good fishing
