New body of fish in the Merrimack river

Jun 6, 2013

The fishing was exceptional for a while and then it tapered off for a couple of days. It was not "bad" fishing, just not what we had come to expect. I went out yesterday well after the turn of the incoming tide and it was bleak. Then a charter captain friend was out last night and the fishing was exceptional! I went out again this morning, also after the turn of the tide, and found birds & surface feeds again! I caught "keepers" on tinker macks as well as 9" Got Stryper Baits. If teasing a 34" striper into hitting a soft plastic bait gets boring, I think you need another sport! It was a blast!

Mackerel were back at Breaking Rock today. I also saw a school of nervous fish, probably with a bass under it, off the Frolic's building in 65' of water. Nice tinker to mid size macks too!

Saturday looks nasty so get out tomorrow morning in the rain or Sunday!

Good fishing
