It has been a challenging winter, even for winter lovers like myself. We have all shoveled our share of snow! Now with Spring only 2 days away many of us are shifting from Cabin Fever to Fishing Fever. Fishing & Boat Show season is almost over and I'm about to make the final decision on the upcoming seasons new purchases for the boat. The marina re-opens in 8 weeks and the grand month of striper fishing, June, is fast approaching.
Last year I managed several nice "keeper" sized stripers on May 31st. It was the beginning of a great season that saw more big bass than I have handled since I started fishing the Merrimack River. More important, the most better bass since I started Summer Job Charters in 1999. I see no reason for that to change in 2011. While the beach guys are struggling and those that do not put in the effort for big fish are down, we should be just fine.
I have been very fortunate with a group of very loyal clients and June is booking up quickly. I will be out fishing hard from June until the wind will no longer let me fish in October. I look forward to seeing everyone on the water soon!
Good fishing!
